Stiffeners

Stiffeners are a sub-component, so they are owned by the HVAC component they are stiffening. A single stiffener may be created and modified as a single subcomponent, additionally, a range of components may be stiffened in one action, applying stiffeners as set up by rules in Custom settings in Paragon.

The user can create, modify, and position a single stiffener on a rectangular square or radiused rectangular bend.

Stiffener is automatically set on the radius of a radiused bend at the chosen angle, and it is set on either leg of a square bend.

Create Single Rectangular Stiffener on Radiused Bend

Position the stiffener on centerline mid bend.

The stiffener will be sized and orientated radially for its position around the bend.

The stiffener can be rotated in place and it will transpose accordingly.

The stiffener can be nudged around centerline between arrive and leave and will re-orientate appropriately.

This will involve implementing new component profile code that is not straight specific and not concerned with faces.

Create Single Rectangular Stiffener on Square Bend

Position the stiffener on either leg of the square bend by picking near arrive or leave.

Picked position on bend centerline will be used to position the stiffener at mid point of the appropriate leg.

This will involve implementing a new pick position path through the code that is not based only on arrive pos/dir.

The stiffener will be orientated and sized according to arrive or leave direction and sizes as appropriate.

The stiffener can be rotated in place and will transpose accordingly.

The stiffener can be nudged to the limit of the appropriate leg.

This will involve implementing a new component profile code that is not straight specific and not concerned with faces.
