User-defined Profiles

Profile standard setup in the Catalog is available for use in the Hull Design application.
If a stiffener, faceplate or pillar has a reference to a user-defined type, any built-in type set for the profile will be ignored. The user-defined types can be shared with other applications being used for the same project, simplifying project setup, material estimations and similar.
The user-defined types come with a number of characteristics not found in the built-in types:
-
Organizing available types into specification, main type and profile type.
-
Named parameters.
-
Defining default values for editable parameters.
-
Defining parameters with fixed values.
-
Defining parameters with values calculated from connected models.
-
Any given type can have a mix of editable, fixed-value and calculated parameters.
-
Setting up p-lines (positions) on the profile cross-section and using any of them for the exact placement of a profile along its trace curve.
