Once the check requirements have been set up, click Check to start the checking operations. The results are displayed in the Checker Results window in the format of:
-
Item
-
The check(s) carried out
-
Result of check
-
Passed - all the items that have passed all specified checks
-
Failed -all elements that have failed one or more checks
-
-
Reason - a brief description of the reason for the failure
-
Message window - displays check messages, for example, Test Passed.

To navigate to any item displayed, click on that item in the list.
This facility is particularly useful when a failed element can be navigated to correct the reason for the failure before repeating the checks.
To save the results of a data check to a file, select one of the following:
-
Control > Save > Results
Displays a File Browser which allows the user to save both the Passed and Failed results to a specified filename and location.
-
Control > Save > Failed Reference
Displays a File Browser which allows the database references of elements that have failed to be saved, together with the checks performed to a specified filename and location. This facility makes it easy to recheck the failed elements later.
To reload a list of failed element references, select Control > Load > Failed References to display a File Browser to navigate to the required filename.
If the list of available checks has been modified during the users current AVEVA E3D Design session, for example, by editing existing checks or adding new ones, the user can update the Checker window to show the new options by selecting Control > Reload Checks.
The checks will be reloaded from the relevant default and user directories and the Classes, Groups and Checks options will be updated.
