Add Data to the Mapping File

Data can be added to the mapping file. It is assumed that the mapping file is a new file.

  1. Add the records after the "USERTABLES" keyword to describe the two USER PROVIDED TABLEs:

    USERTABLES

    TABLE 1 D:\Staad\UPT1.upt

    TABLE 2 D:\Staad\UPT2.upt

  2. Add the "MEMBER PROPERTY" keyword and add the records for the profiles in the two referenced files.

    • D:\Staad\UPT1.upt describes the wide flange profiles. The AVEVA E3D Design specification /DP-DPLG is used to represent the profile in AVEVA E3D Design.

    • D:\Staad\UPT1.upt contains the name of the wide flange profiles, for example, "1000X300X25X15PG". The naming rule is <d1>X<d2>X<d5>X<d4>PG.

    • For the wide flange in the USER PROVIDED TABLE, the 2nd number is the depth of the profile, the 4th number is width, the 3rd number is the web thickness and the 5th number is the flange thickness of the profile.

  3. In the specification DP-DPLG, d1 is the depth of the profile (d1 is the first design parameter of the GENSEC), d2 is the width, d3 is the web thickness and d4 is the flange thickness.

The record columns are defined in the mapping file:

    UPTABLE 1 <d1>X<d2>X<d5>X<d4>PG,/DP-DPLG,d1 d2 d3 d4 d5 d6,<d2> <d4> <d4> <d3> <d5> <d5>,0,-90,0

Column 5 and column 6 can be set to modify the beta angle, column 7 can be set to modify the mirror flag.

Set the profile of the PIPE section and the profiles after the keyword "MEMBER PROPERTY" are defined:

    UPTABLE 2 <d1>OD<d2>,/DP-DCTU,d1 d2,<d1> <(d1-d2)/2>,0,-90,0

  4. Check for standard profiles in the STD file and add their mapping records.

The profile "TABLE ST UC305X305X240" is used in the STD file. Add this profile to the mapping file:

    MEMBER PROPERTY BRITISH

    TABLE ST UC305X305X240 ,/BS-UC305x305x240 ,,,0,-90

  5. Add the "* MATERIAL PROPERTIES" keyword and add the material mapping for S275JRSteel to GR275:

    ISOTROPIC S275JRSteel,/GR275,2.05e+008,0.3,76.8195,1.2e-005,0.03

The mapping file is completed:

USERTABLES

TABLE 1 D:\Staad\UPT1.upt

TABLE 2 D:\Staad\UPT2.upt

MEMBER PROPERTY

UPTABLE 1 <d1>X<d2>X<d5>X<d4>PG,/DP-DPLG,d1 d2 d3 d4 d5 d6,<d2> <d4> <d4> <d3> <d5> <d5>,0,-90,0

UPTABLE 2 <d1>OD<d2>,/DP-DCTU,d1 d2,<d1> <(d1-d2)/2>,0,-90,0

MEMBER PROPERTY BRITISH

TABLE ST UC305X305X240 ,/BS-UC305x305x240 ,,,0,-90

* MATERIAL PROPERTIES

ISOTROPIC S275JRSteel,/GR275,2.05e+008,0.3,76.8195,1.2e-005,0.03
