Create automatic Shrinkage Compensation on a plate

To consider the shrinkage behavior, caused by different welding situations in all directions of a plate, you can let the application calculate the shrinkage compensation and "add" the calculated material close to the welds automatically.

1. In the 3D canvas, select a plate with welded features, for example:

   

   Alternatively, you can select the plate in the Model Explorer.

   

2. On the Production tab in the Create group, select Shrinkage to display the Shrinkage window.

3. Select the Automatic Compensation Calculation option.

4. Select Create.

   The shrinkage compensation is calculated and now available on the plate.
