Opens a drawing sheet from a selection in the database hierarchy.
Note:
To create sheets and views, refer to Create Drawing Sheets and Support Elements and Create Views for further information.
The Open window displays the database hierarchy. The functionality of the Open window is the same as the Hierarchy Browser window, except as described. Refer to Create Departments, Registries and Drawings with the Hierarchy Browser Window or Open Window for further information.

The Open window allows you to browse for the required sheet.
The Search Project field finds any elements of the appropriate type with a name that contains the search fragment (anywhere in the name). Prefixing the search fragment with a forward slash '/' to indicate the ‘name begins with’ results in a faster search.
Note:
Generally the name search is not case sensitive. However, the 'name begins with' search
is case sensitive, although fully capitalized element names are still matched upon.

The list in the lower-right corner of the window allows you to restrict the window display to thumbnails for a selected type of element.
Sheets are listed in the right-hand part of the Open window. Select the required sheet, or input a name in the Name field, and click Open. If the selected sheet is claimed by another user or if it belongs to a read-only database, you are given the option to open the drawing as a temporary copy.
Alternatively, select the required sheet, or input a name in the Name field, and click Open Temporary Copy. The sheet is opened as a copy in a temporary workspace not meant for storage. If the selected sheet is claimed by another user, you can temporarily modify a sheet without excluding others from modifying the original sheet. All functionality is available when a sheet is opened as a temporary copy, modifications to the sheet are not stored when a Save Work is carried out.
By default, a notification band is displayed at the top of the drawing canvas when a sheet is opened as a temporary copy.

Click Cancel to discard any changes and close the Open window.
View Loading Settings
If the number of entities in a view exceeds a set limit, a thumbnail (bitmap) of the view is displayed on the drawing canvas when the drawing is opened, instead of the design geometry that is normally displayed. The functionality enables quick loading of larger drawings and is defined by the administrator.
The example displays a view where the number of entities does not exceed the set limit.

The example displays the same view where the number of entities exceeds the set limit.

When a thumbnail is displayed:
-
You cannot access the entities in the view
-
Nothing happens when clicking on the view
-
Draw does not navigate to model elements.
The view can be displayed correctly by making it the current owner.
If no thumbnail exists, which is the case for drawings generated in DRAFT 12.1 or previous releases of Draw, a blank sheet is displayed when the number of entities in a view exceeds the set limit.
