Convert from Setup Form VarChars to Layout Form

Once you have achieved an acceptable layout using Setup form . . . VarChars, you may well find that simply replacing 'setup' by 'layout' will achieve a correct layout, or may require a few simple adjustments using the techniques already described.

If the layout is radically changed, however, then this is probably caused by the behavior difference shown by the table, in particular for the PATH setting.

A new frame gadget always inherits the current PATH value, but for Setup Form the inherited value is not restored on EXIT from the frame. If it changed within the frame definition, then it remains changed on frame completion. However, for Layout Form, the inherited PATH is restored at EXIT.

The solution is to add an extra PATH setting following each frame definition to restore the original PATH.

The same is true for HALIGN and VALIGN, though these are much less frequently changed.

This does not apply to HDIST and VDIST, which are restored in both layout schemes.
