Set up and Manage PDF Export Settings

You can define multiple export configuration sets to store settings for the export of drawings to a PDF file. You can add, modify, copy or delete export configuration sets.
On the Project tab, select Export Settings, select Export to PDF from the Select Export Type drop-down list to display the PDF Export Settings window.

The list of configuration sets displays the available export configuration sets. Select a configuration set to display the settings. Non-editable configuration sets are indicated with a Lock icon.
Many of the options available when exporting to a PDF file are available when exporting to a DGN file (refer to Set up and Manage DGN Export Settings for further information), except the following options.

Aspect ratio |
Allows you to define the exported drawing scale. Click the arrow icon to display a drop-down list.
You can select a preset scale from the drop-down list. Alternatively, input scale nominator and denominator values in the adjacent fields Note: |

Fit to paper |
Select the check box to scale the exported output to the selected page size, by default. |

Specify paper orientation |
Allows you to define the exported page orientation. Click the arrow icon to display a drop-down list.
Select Landscape Orientation to export the sheet as Landscape. Select Landscape Upside Down Orientation to export the sheet as Landscape Upside Down. Select Portrait Orientation to export the sheet as Portrait. Select Portrait Upside Down Orientation to export the sheet as Portrait Upside Down. |

Center to Paper |
Select the check box to center the exported output on the paper. Alternatively, you can de-select the check box and input coordinates in the X and Y fields to define the center point of the exported area. |

Embed Font Data |
Select the check box to include font data in the exported file. This option can greatly increase the size of the exported file. Optimize Fonts becomes available. If the check box is not selected, font data is not embedded in output file. In some cases, the appearance of the exported file may be affected. |

Optimize Fonts |
Select the check box to remove unused symbols from the font data of the exported file. This option can greatly decrease the size of the exported file, future editing options will be limited. |

400 DPI |
Select the radio button to export the PDF with a 400 dots per inch resolution. |
|
600 DPI |
Select the radio button to export the PDF with a 600 dots per inch resolution. |

Custom |
Select the radio button to export the PDF with a custom dots per inch resolution. Input a DPI value in the field, the valid range is from 72 to 40000 DPI. |

Blanking |
Select the check box to export labels and dimensions with blanking, if blanking is enabled for the Draw element. |
|
Scale Line Weight |
Select the check box to scale line weights on the exported output. |
