Modify Section Plane using Grip Points

Modifies the section plane using grip points. Grip points can be moved, rotated and flipped.

Position Section Plane

Moves all of the grip points to reposition the entire section plane using either the 2D or 3D functionality.

Click the square grip point in the centre of the section plane.

You are prompted to Specify stretch point

Move the cursor to specify a position for the section plane. A preview displays.

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the position for the center point of the section plane.

Note:
Intelligent (circle) grip points are not retained for repositioned section planes. By default, circle grip points are modified to square grip points.

Rotate Section Plane

Rotates all of the grip points to reposition the entire section plane using either the 2D or 3D functionality.

Click the rotate grip point above the center of the section plane.

You are prompted to Specify angle

Move the cursor to specify the rotation angle for the section plane. A preview displays.

Input an angular value in the field and press Enter or click to identify the rotation angle of the section plane.

Note:
Intelligent (circle) grip points are not retained for rotated section planes. By default, circle grip points are modified to square grip points.

Flip Section Plane

Flips all of the grip points to reposition the entire section plane using either the 2D or 3D functionality.

Click the square grip point below the centre of the section plane.

You are prompted to Specify stretch point

Move the cursor to specify a position for the section plane. A preview displays.

Click within the drawn area of the view to flip the section plane.

Alternatively, you can flip all of the grip points to modify reposition the entire section plane using the 3D functionality.

Click the half-filled square grip point.

You are prompted to Specify hidden side

Move the cursor to specify a position for the section plane. A hatched area indicates the side of the plane that an area of the view is removed from.

Click within the drawn area of the view to flip the section plane.

Note:
Intelligent (circle) grip points are retained for flipped section planes.
