Property Grid

The property grid can be used to modify a Grid Ruler. See Properties for further information.

Grid

The name of the grid system. Read-only.

Axis

The axis in the grid system (may differ from world coordinate system axis). Read-only.

Position

The position in grid system coordinates, not the world coordinates. (Grid system coordinates and world coordinates differ if the grid system has a POS that is not (0,0,0), and/or an orientation that is not aligned with the world coordinate system.)

Start Position

The start position in grid system coordinates.

Note: Although the start position is given as a coordinate value, FR10+100 for instance, this value is re-calculated and stored as an offset from the Position property. Changing the Position property displays a different Start Position in the property grid.

End Position

The end position in grid system coordinates.

Note: As for start position, the coordinate value given here is translated and stored as an offset from End Position.

Text Height

The size of the label text.

Long Tick Index

The frequency of the labels. A value of 5 means that every fifth tick is labelled. The labelled ticks are defined as long ticks, and the unlabelled ticks are defined as short ticks.

Long Tick Length

The length of the long tick.

Short Tick Length

The length of the short tick.

Tick Side

The side(s) of the ruler the ticks will be on. Can be Positive, Negative, or Both Sides.

If a work surface is active, the Positive side is towards the center of the work surface and the Negative side is the opposite direction.

If there is no active work surface, the positive side is the positive Y-axis of the grid ruler’s local coordinates system. The axes below are the axis of the grid system the ruler refers to (not world coordinates):

  • If the ruler is along the X-axis the positive side is Y, and the negative side is -Y.

  • If the ruler is along the Y-axis the positive side is X, and the negative side is -X.

  • If the ruler is along the Z-axis the positive side is Y, and the negative side is -Y.
