AVEVA™ Unified Engineering

Prismatic Concrete Sections

  • Last UpdatedNov 09, 2023
  • 1 minute read

In Staad Pro, the concrete profiles are defined as:

The mapping between these profiles and the equivalent AVEVA E3D Design specification reference is defined in the mapping file. The example is a Rectangular profile.

MEMBER PROPERTY

*Rectangle Profiles

PRIS YD <height> ZD <width> , /CONCRETE-BEAMS-SPEC/Rectangular_Profile ,height width,,0,-90,0

The profile mapping consists of columns delimited by ',' .The description of the columns are:

  • PRIS is the keyword, followed by the parameters of the profile, for example, YD , ZD

  • The equivalent AVEVA E3D Design specification reference

  • AVEVA E3D Design Parameters. In this case, height is DESP 1 (YD) and width is DESP 2 (ZD)

  • Always blank for prismatic profiles

  • Beta angle change for non-Vertical profiles

  • Beta angle change for Vertical profiles

  • Mirror flag

Export

On export, the output finds GENSECs with specification reference /CONCRETE-BEAMS-SPEC/Rectangular_Profile and outputs DESP 1 as the height and DESP 2 as the width. For example:

MEMBER PROPERTY

1 2 4 6 PRIS YD 0.900 ZD 0.750

Import

On import, the equivalent line creates ISECTs with a specification reference of /CONCRETE-BEAMS-SPEC/Rectangular_Profile and sets DESP 1 and 2 to 0.900 and 0.750 respectively. This allows the compare functionality to check for any changes to the equivalent GENSECs in either the specification reference or the design parameters.
