Rule Set Purposes

The display of the Rule Manager window is different depending on the rule set purpose.
If the purpose is unset or an unrecognized purpose is used, the window still functions, but some options are not available.
The rule set purpose usually describes the type of element for which the rules are created. Setting the purpose only affects the window layout, not the resulting rule calculation.
An exception is the WSEL rule set purpose, which populates the active properties list in the weld group in Model.
The valid rule set purposes are:
-
JOIN - Rules for JOIN elements. The rule is evaluated with respect to the FIXING in Model.
-
JWEL - Rules for selection of weld detail for JWELD elements. The rule is evaluated with respect to the owning FIXING in Model.
-
SAI - Rules for elements imported using the Structural Analysis Interface. The rule is evaluated with respect to the GENSEC in Model. Refer to Structural Analysis Interface GENSEC Element Rules for further information.
-
SFIT - Rules for SFIT elements. The rule is evaluated with respect to the FIXING in Model.
-
SGEN - Rules for GENSEC elements (beams only) created from a reference grid. The rule is evaluated with respect to the GENSEC in Model.
-
TMPL - Rules for Template elements. The rule is evaluated with respect to the Template owner in Model.
-
WDET - Rules for WDET elements. The rule is evaluated with respect to the STWELD in Model.
-
WSEL - Weld selection rules for selecting weld detail during automatic weld placement operations. The rule is evaluated with respect to the STWELD in Model.
