Add Angular Dimensions with Three Specified Points

Adds angular dimensions to a view using three specified points. The first two points define the direction of the projection lines using the the snapping mechanism, the third point determines the position of the dimension line. The center position is calculated automatically.

On the Annotate tab, in the Annotate group, select Chained and select 3 Point from the dropdown menu.

You are prompted to Select snap to define the vertex direction or <Sense mode.

Click to identify the snap point for the first projection line.

You are prompted to Select snap to define the vertex direction or <Sense mode.

Click to identify the snap point for the second projection line.

You are then prompted to Specify the dimension line position or

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the position of the dimension line.

The angular dimension is created and the command ends automatically.

Throughout the angular dimension creation process you can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.

Sense mode

Press the down arrow key and select Sense mode to specify the mode of the angular dimension. Refer to Sense Mode for further information.

Back

Press the down arrow key and select Back to undo the last action.

The new ADIM element displays in the Draw Explorer containing ADIR elements that represent the direction of the projection lines.
