Air Volumes and Surface Areas

The user can view the structure volumes and surface areas of all the concrete structural elements partially or fully inside the selected room, as well as the type, volume and area associated with each element are also displayed.

To add an additional column to the inventory list, click to select the Maintain saved inventory checkbox.

Note:
When the list is calculated, the default value is to save the element in the saved inventory (INVLST element under the ROOM element).

Note:
If the only one room option is selected and the element is already saved in the inventory of another room, the default value is not to save the element.

From the Modify Inventory volume window, click the Structure: Calculate Volumes and Surface Areas expand button.

To calculate the air volumes and surface areas, click Calculate the grid is populated with the results.

The gross volume of all the concrete structural elements is also displayed.

The volume of structure and surface area is also displayed with the free space left by the structure in the room is shown as the net volume.

To calculate the height of the extrusion so that the volume is increased by the volume of the elements inside the flooding volume, click Adjust Height using Volume.

Note:
The structures volume and surface areas calculation excludes other elements that are inside the room such as steel structure, piping, equipment, HVAC and cabling. For a more detailed calculation including these elements, refer to Component Volumes.

To view the structural elements inside the room in the 3D view, from the Modify Inventory volume window, click to select the structural element, then click Add Selected, the selected structural element is displayed in the 3D view.

To export the report of the structures volumes and surface areas of the structural elements to MS Excel, click Export.

To print the report on the structures volumes and surface areas of the structural elements inside the room, click Print.
