Exports the contents of the report to a specified file format and opens an email with the exported file attached.

Note:
The export functionality is only available when Run Report has been performed.

  1. On the Report Designer tab, in the AVEVA group, click Run Report to display the Run Report window with the Print Preview tab displayed.

  2. On the Print Preview tab, in the Export group, click Email As to display the Export drop-down menu.

  3. Select from the available export types to display an Export Options window relevant to the file type, for example:

    Note:
In order to export multi-byte characters from a report into various formats (for example, PDF, PNG or RTF), it is advisable to use the Arial Unicode MS font that supports multi-byte character sets.

    Note:
When exporting certain data types to Excel from a report, some values output as #Value. This occurs when the data type is not recognized as a particular value type by Excel. The work around is to output the values as text. When saving the report to XLSX from the XLSX Export Options window, set Text export mode to Text. The values are converted to text and displayed correctly.

  4. Specify the export options and click OK to close the Export Options window.

  5. A standard Save As window displays which is used to specify the export file location. Click Save to save the exported file.

  6. Populate the email and send to the required recipient.

    Note:
Background colors are not included when a report is exported to RTF or MHT format.

    Note:
Watermarks are not included when a report is exported to HTML format.

Separate export options are displayed for the following formats:

  • PDF

  • HTML

  • MHT

  • RTF

  • DOCX

  • XLS or XLSX

  • CSV

  • TXT

  • Image
