Beam to Column Connection Node Tolerances

  • Last UpdatedNov 09, 2023

If a beam element connects to a column element and is within the designated tolerance, the nodes are merged. In the example, the two beam nodes are 50mm apart.

If the beam in column tolerance is set to 0mm, the nodes are not merged.

If the beam in column tolerance is set to 50mm, the two beam nodes are merged to a central point between the two nodes. This may result in the ISECT element being created at a slight angle, which may not be the desired outcome.
