Update Existing Client Project Application Defaults Databases

Update Existing Client Project Application Defaults Databases

Updates existing standards or adds application defaults for new standards that are created in the MDS project.

If you are maintaining your own application defaults databases, standards are not immediately available because defaults must be updated within the application defaults database.

The tool is relevant if you are upgrading from a previous version of a project or continuing work on a project that uses a previous version of the MDS/APPDEFAULTS database.

Click Check Defaults to check the Supports application defaults database against the standard set of defaults contained in the MDS project.

The defaults database is checked to determine if any default standards are missing or if any updates to existing standards need to be applied. Detected updates display in the Check Supports Application Defaults window.

All missing default standards or available updates to existing standards display in the list.

Click Update Defaults to add or update application default sets to the project defaults database. Once completed, a Message window displays informing you that the required number of defaults are successfully created/updated.

A log file is created during the defaults update containing detailed information about the modifications to the database. The log file is created in the current %AVEVA_DESIGN_USER% directory and is named mdsDefaultsUpdate.log.
