The main part of the mapping file is to map the equivalent profiles between AVEVA E3D Design and Staad Pro.

There must be a line in the mapping file for each profile used in Staad Pro and its equivalent AVEVA E3D Design specification.
The profile mapping consists of columns delimited by ',' .The description of the columns are:
-
Staad Pro table name
-
The equivalent AVEVA E3D Design specification reference
-
AVEVA E3D Design parameters (exclusively used by user provided tables and design parameter profiles)
-
The equivalent Staad Pro parameters (exclusively used by user provided tables and design parameter profiles)
-
Beta angle change for non-vertical profiles
-
Beta angle change for vertical profiles
-
Mirror flag
The last three columns are required to map the profile coordinate systems between AVEVA E3D Design and Staad Pro. The columns are required because the default orientation of a Section Profile (SPRF), as setup in the AVEVA E3D Design catalog, is different to the default orientation of the equivalent profile in Staad Pro.
The parameters are standard for most profiles. For example:
TABLE ST UB203X102X23 , /BS-UB203x102x23 ,,,0,-90,0
On export, if there is a GENSEC with the SPRF set to /BS-UB203x102x23, in the Member Properties section of the STD file, the equivalent TABLE ST UB203X102X23 is output.
Similarly, on import, any profiles with the TABLE ST UB203X102X23, have their SPRF set to /BS-UB203x102x23.
If the GENSEC is orientated horizontally, then there is no additional change required to the Constants section of the STD file. If the GENSEC is orientated vertically, then a modification of -90 must be applied to the actual beta angle in the Constants section.
