Adds linear dimensions to an isometric view. The direction of the dimension line is automatically calculated based on selected vertices and aligned with an isometric axis.
On the Annotate tab, in the Annotate group, select Orthogonal Chained and select the required linear dimension type from the drop-down list. Refer to Add Linear Dimensions for further information.
You are prompted to Specify the dimension point or <Type>
Press the down arrow key and select Orientation to specify the orientation of the linear dimension.
Input I at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension orientation as isometric.
Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the point to measure from.
You are then prompted to Specify the dimension point or
Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the first point to measure to.
You are then prompted to Specify the dimension line position or
Move the cursor across the view, the dimension line direction is limited to the isometric axes.
You are then prompted to Specify the dimension point or <Finish>
The prompt is repeated, allowing you to create multiple linear dimensions.
Input F at the prompt and press Enter to end the command.
Throughout the linear dimension creation process you can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available. Refer to Add Linear Dimensions for further information.

The new LDIM element displays in the Draw Explorer containing a DPOI element that represents each dimension point.

Note:
The text oblique angle for isometric linear dimensions is automatically calculated,
the Dim line font oblique angle property is ignored.
