Hatched Elements

As an example, you can define three Hatching Rules for a View to apply different hatching patterns to concrete and steel items cut by a section plane, and a different hatching pattern again to the top surfaces of panels representing an escape route.
In general, defining a sectioned face hatching rule for a Design element (for example, a significant element such as a BRAN, EQUI, SUBS or FRMW) hatches the sectioned faces for all the hierarchy below that element.
It is possible to define rules to hatch sectioned faces on most elements below a significant element. Sectioned faces on elements such as individual equipment primitives, GENSECs, STWALLs and FLOORs can be hatched separately from their owners. If both a child and its owner have different hatching, it is important to have the child hatching rule before the owner hatching rule in the database hierarchy.
A Hatch Rule can only be applied to Sectioned Faces or Primitive Surfaces, not both. Only one Hatch Rule can be applied to a Design element. For example, you cannot hatch both types of face of a Design element, and it is not possible to hatch differently the three surfaces of a BOX element that are visible in an isometric View.
