When creating a location defined view, view limits, drawlist limits and section planes are all set up from the view location. Draw synchronizes the limits and section planes when any of the components are changed. The location itself can only be modified if the orientation remains the same. For example, modifying the view location from FR23 to FR24.
When changing the location, the following updates are performed:
-
The view limits, id-list limits and limits in criteria are updated, the depth is considered.
-
All section planes are updated, the depth is considered.
-
All model elements added manually to the id-list are retained.
-
The rotation angle is recalculated.
When updating the view limits of an existing location defined view, the following updates are performed:
-
The id-list limits are updated.
-
The section planes are updated and adjusted to the new view limits.
When updating the depth of an existing location defined view, the following updates are performed:
-
The view limits, id-list limits and limits in criteria are updated, the depth is considered.
-
The section planes remain unchanged except for the two planes representing the depth, these are positioned according to the new depth.
-
All model elements added manually to the id-list are retained.
When updating the orientation of an existing location defined view, the following updates are performed:
-
The depth in front and depth behind values are swapped so the box delimited by the section planes remains unchanged.
-
The view direction is aligned with the orientation.
-
The rotation angle is recalculated.
Manual modifications to the view limits and section planes are always persisted throughout modification. For example, if you modify the view limits in one way and the section planes in another, and then update the location plane, the modifications are reapplied.
