AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer Functionality in Model

It is possible to activate a subset of the AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer functionality in Model. White space (unused drawing areas) can be utilized for optimal positioning of annotations on the currently opened sheet. The functionality is available using an additional Whitespace tab.

To display the whitespace tab in Model, some specific actions must be performed:

The Model module must have access to the Draw databases with write access. Module setup is managed using AVEVA Administration for the projects you want to use.

The MDB must have access to a PADD database with write access.

The Draw application in Model configuration database setting must be turned on in the system defaults of the Draw module. Refer to Set System Defaults for further information.

Run WhiteSpace Calculation
Performs the whitespace calculation on the currently opened sheet. The functionality is identical to the Draw module functionality. Refer to Run Whitespace Calculation for further information.
AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer operates using a cost charging mechanism. Refer to AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer Cost Charging Mechanism Description for further information.
Administration Settings
The Whitespace Admin window displays as read only, allowing you to view the styles used for whitespace calculation, this is indicated at the top of the window.
The styles used for whitespace calculation can be created, modified and deleted using the functionality available in the Draw module.

All styles available on the Whitespace Admin window can be applied to the drawing elements using the Properties window.

The batch mode functionality is not supported.
The whitespace report functionality is not supported.
The following in canvas commands are not supported:
WSAPPLYRULES
WSBATCHMODE
PML commands are not supported. If an attempt is made to process a PML command, you receive an error message summarizing the problem.
