Mining catalog specifications

The catalog can contain various belt sizes and idlers from multiple manufacturers. Project requirements determine which belt sizes and idlers are used. It is specifications that determine what choices are available to the designer. For example, if the catalog contains a set of 2400mm belts, they are not available to designers unless they are included in a specification.

SPWL - Specification World

Hierarchy of a specification world. Parent SPWL. Multiple SPEC children

Specifications are supplied for:

  • Metric and imperial covers

  • Metric and imperial belts

  • Metric idler
The specification is based on the Melco catalog.

  • Imperial idler
The specification is based on an imperial CEMA standard.

  • Roller
The specification is independent of metric and imperial

  • Pulley
The specification is independent of metric and imperial

You can store specifications in any SPWL but the PURP of the SPWL must be set to MINE.

Within the catalog, you can create different idlers, from different manufacturers. However, on a particular project, you typically choose a specific manufacturer. To prevent users from picking the wrong idler standard, select the Restricted attribute in the attribute form of the specification. Users cannot then access the specification.

To view or modify a specification, click Specification in the Modify group on the Specification tab.
