Bracing to Column Connection Node Tolerances

  • Last UpdatedNov 09, 2023
  • 2 minute read

If a bracing element connects to a column element and is within the designated tolerance, the nodes are merged. In the example, the two bracing nodes are 25mm apart and the top node is 125mm from the base of the column element.

If the bracing in column tolerance is set to 0mm, the nodes are not merged.

If the bracing in column tolerance is set to 50mm, the two bracing nodes are merged to a central point between the two nodes.

If the bracing in column tolerance is set to 150mm, the two bracing nodes are merged to a central point between the two nodes, then because that point is within 150mm of the base of the column, the nodes are all merged to the base of the column.
