Modify Range

  • Last UpdatedSep 26, 2025

Modify Range allows multiple HVAC components to be modified in a single process. You can select a range of components and then change one or more of shape, size (width and height) and specification.

Modify Range is the preferred first step for performing a bulk edit. After applying changes, designers must verify, and if necessary, adjust the design, as component origin positions are preserved. In situations where some components cannot be modified by the Modify Range operation, manual modification may be required.

Use case examples for Modify Range

A use case for Modify Range is where custom HVAC has been used at a preliminary size and shape for initial space reservation, and later in the design phase, the size, and possibly shape, has changed. Modify Range can make the required changes for a range of elements without having to modify each component individually.

Another use case can be when moving from one specification to another. If a component with matching shape and dimensions is available in the target specification, the component’s specification is changed. If there is no matching shape and dimension in the target specification, the component remains in the original specification.

To open the HVAC Modify Range window, on the ribbon, in the Modify group, select Range.
