Understand check valves

Check valves allow you to explicitly specify the direction of flow in the pipeline model. The Line Blockage application requires an accurate direction of flow so that it can calculate the state of pumps and valves reliably.

Check valves should be added at the entry of a station and after every group of pumps and valves. The following illustration shows an example of where you can place check valves in order to eliminate potential ambiguities in the direction of flow.
