Diagnose the source of problems using the PLM Diagnostics window

Analyzing changes on a per-component-basis (by meter, linefill, or tank) allows you to diagnose and pinpoint the location of defects as they happen.
To detect changes, the Administrator sets a multiplication factor for a pipeline system and applies it to the last 30 minute volume changes. The last 30 minute volume changes for the meters, linefill segments, or tanks can be accessed from their respective summary window. If any drastic changes occur over the average value, then a flag is indicated for the volume change at a particular minute. Since this flag helps to indicate any input that could cause Pipeline Monitoring (PLM) to alarm, it should be further investigated.
AVEVA Enterprise SCADA will do the following:
-
Maintain a history of the last 30 minute changes for each component (meter, linefill, and tank).
-
Calculate the average change for each component over the last 30 minutes.
If the change across a component exceeds its average change over the last 30 minutes by the diagnostic volume factor or more, then that component is flagged as a possible problem source.
To access the PLM Diagnostics window
The PLM Diagnostics window lists all components flagged as problematic.
-
Select Diagnostics on the PLM Controls menu.
The PLM Diagnostics window appears. Each device assigned to the plm record that violates the diagnostic condition is listed as a row, with device attributes in the columns.
Note: If a row is selected, the Control dialog for the device type appears.

The following table detail the PLM Diagnostics columns.
