AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids

Work with flow measurement input

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025
  • 1 minute read

The processor reads data from each assigned active input. The data read will depend on whether the input is a meter type that is counting the units of volume passing through (Virtual Flow Computer or rate) or a tank type providing a static storage volume.

For a meter type, the processor may read the following:

  • Indicated Volume (IV) — The volume counter that the meter gets from its own input source. This could be an uncorrected, partially corrected, or corrected volume.

  • Gross Standard Volume (GSV) — The corrected volume counter.

  • Flow rate — GSV corrected.

  • Temperature, Pressure, and Density.

  • Meter Correction Factor (MCF).

If a rate record is used as the meter type, only the volume and flow rate (both assumed to be GSV corrected) are available to be read.

For a tank type, the processor may read the following:

  • GSV

  • Flow rate — GSV corrected

  • Total Observed Volume (TOV) — Volume from the strapping table

  • Gross Observed Volume (GOV) — TOV, corrected for floating roof effects

  • Liquid Level

  • Snow Load (as gauge or as weight)

  • Density

  • Liquid Temperature

  • Ambient Temperature

  • Tank Shell Temperature

  • Roof Weight
