The Valve Type can be configured as one of the following:
-
Physical
-
Synthetic
-
Logical
Any Valve Type can be optionally nested within a parent by setting the Parent Valve field.
When the Parent Valve is specified:
-
The Parent valve record must be configured as a Synthetic Valve or a Logical Valve.
-
The valve record specified in the Parent Valve field must be a different valve record than the valve record you are currently configuring (that is, the valve cannot specify itself as its own parent).

-
If you are working in an existing Flow Network, the valve record configured should be configured as a Physical Valve. It is not recommended that Synthetic or Logical valves be configured within an existing Flow Network. For more information on configuring a Physical valve, see Configure a Physical valve.
