AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids

Correct the volume delta

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025
  • 1 minute read

Parameters used in the correction are the following:

  • Observed temperature, pressure, and density.

  • Mechanical Meter Correction Factor (MCF).

  • Correction method to apply, based on product being metered.

The parameters may be read from configured analogs or the values can be manually overridden by the Controller. If the input counter or flow rate has already been corrected for a particular parameter, this component of the correction will be disabled.

The Indicated Volume (IV) delta is corrected using an external library implementing the American Petroleum Institute (API) standard correction methods. In summary, the method will determine temperature and pressure correction factors for liquids (Volume Correction Factor for Temperature [CTL] and Volume Correction Factor for Pressure [CPL]), and multiply these with the MCF and IV delta.
