To open the Tank Detail window
-
On the Tank Summary window, select the row header of the tank record you wish to view.
The Tank Detail window appears.

The table below lists the action items and fields on the Tank Detail window.
Group box |
Fields |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Main |
Tank Name |
Name of the tank record. |
Override |
This field indicates whether or not a tank override is in effect for this record. |
Tank Number |
Number of the tank. |
Product Type |
Product type currently contained in the tank. |
Current State |
The current state of the tank. |
Tank Direction |
This provides information about what is happening inside the tank. It can be behaving in one of the following ways:
External Flow |
The external flow information provides an indication of which way the liquid in the tank should be flowing, which gives you an indication if there is anything going wrong. This information is received from devices external to the tank. Possible values include:
Alarm Inhibit |
This field indicates whether or not alarms are inhibited for the tank. For more information, see Enable and configure tank alarms. |
Density |
The source of the density and/or gravity used to correct the volume to American Petroleum Institute (API) standards. |
Units |
The units by which the density is measured. This is configured in the unit profile. |
Observed |
The telemetered or manually entered density. This field will report N/A if there is only a corrected volume to report. Your Administrator has two Density Source options: From product table (corrected) or From telemetry, which can then be marked as Density Corrected. If they have selected either setting, only a corrected density will be reported. |
Corrected |
The corrected gravity value used to correct the volume to API standards. |
Override |
This field indicates whether or not the density is a manually entered value. |
Temperature |
Units |
The units by which the temperature is measured. This is configured in the unit profile. |
Current (Temp) |
The current temperature in the tank. |
Correct Factor |
The temperature correction factor. |
Override (Temp) |
This field indicates whether or not the temperature is a manually entered value. For more information, see Open the Tank Manual Overrides dialog. |
Level |
Current (Level) |
The current uncorrected level in the tank from the field. This level is converted to an uncorrected volume using a volume conversion table (strapping table). |
Max Allowed |
The maximum safe level for the liquid in the tank. |
Remain |
The distance between the current fill level and the maximum safe fill level. This distance decreases as the tank fills, and increases as the tank empties. |
Snowload |
The snow load factor used to compensate for the effect of the roof on the volume of the tank. |
Level Format |
The level fraction format used to display all Level values in the tank ezXOS displays, alarm limits, and alarm messages. |
Volumes |
Units |
Displays which units the volume values are displayed in. These values are defined by the unit profile. |
Current GOV |
The Gross Observed Volume (GOV) of product in the tank. The GOV is calculated by converting the tank level via a volume conversion table (strapping table). |
Current Gross Standard Volume (GSV) |
The indicated volume corrected to standard temperature and pressure. |
GOV to Pump |
The volume of liquid in a tank, excluding the tank bottom volume. The configured tank bottom volume (gross standard or indicated depending on the tank type) is subtracted from the current gross standard/indicated volume to calculate the volume of liquid that can be safely pumped from the tank. |
GOV to Fill |
The volume of space remaining in the tank. The current standard/indicated volume in the tank is subtracted from the configured maximum safe tank volume to calculate the volume to fill. If the volume in the tank is larger than the maximum safe volume, the volume to fill is negative. |
Max GOV |
The maximum volume that can be safely held in the tank. |
Min GOV |
The minimum volume that can be safely held in the tank. |
Percent Full |
The percent amount by which the tank is full. |
Time to Empty/Fill |
The time that it should take to fill or empty the tank at the current flow rate. |
ETA (Volume) |
The estimated time at which the full or empty level will be reached. The ETA is displayed as the date and time of day in MM/DD/YY hh:mm:ss format. |
GSV Change |
The resettable GSV counter. |
Flow Rate |
Units |
Units that the flow rate is measured in. The units are defined by the unit profile. |
GOV |
GOV flow rate. The flow rate based on the tank level change. |
GSV |
GSV flow rate. The GOV flow rate corrected to standard temperature. |
Avg GOV |
Average GOV flow rate. The average flow rate based on the tank level change. |
Avg GSV |
Average GSV flow rate. The average GOV flow rate corrected to standard temperature. |
Smoothed GOV |
Smoothed GOV flow rate. The GOV flow rate where exponential smoothing is applied to filter out noise in the flow. |
Smoothed GSV |
Smoothed GSV flow rate. The smoothed GOV Flow Rate corrected to standard temperature. |
Countdown |
For more information, see Countdown. |
Tank Idle |
This field indicates whether or not the tank’s defined comparisons have succeeded. |
Operator Idle |
This field indicates whether or not you have manually forced the tank into the idle state. |
Creep Level |
The base level for Creep Alarm checking. |
