The following procedure details how to configure the the Main tab of the prodtype Row Edit window.

To configure the Product Type Main tab
-
In the Name field, enter the name of the product type.
-
(Optional) in the Description field, enter a description.
The description entered can be up to 47 characters in length. This field is for information purposes only, and it can be designed to describe the record, its association with other points, or any other textual information.
-
(Optional) In the Product Group field, click (...) to select the corresponding product group.
-
In the Product Code field, enter the code to serve as an alternate source of identification for the product. This code can be a maximum of 18 characters long.
-
(Optional) In the Grade Code field, assign an integer identifier of the product.
-
(Optional) In the Sonic Velocity field, enter a sonic velocity.
Note: This field is only used if the interface detection application uses sonic velocity as the detection property. For more information, see Standard Model and Batch Tracking application.
-
(Optional) In the Thermal Expansion Coefficient field, enter the thermal expansion coefficient.
Note: This is used if API corrections for specialized products are used. For more information, see Select the proper API table.
-
(Optional) Select the Compressible Product checkbox to indicate that the product is a compressible product.
This selection has an impact on API 14.3 volume corrections for Orifice meters. If selected, Isentropic Exponent and Base Compressibility within the Base Telemetry tab become enabled.
-
(Optional) In the Isentropic Exponent field, enter an isentropic exponent.
Note: This value is used in orifice meter calculations to determine a compressible fluid’s expansion factor.
For product types associated with product groups with a Correction Library of API 11.3.2.1 1st Edition—Ethylene, if the value is not configured, it will be dynamically looked up using API 11.3.2.1—Table 6.3 based on the current flowing pressure and temperature. If it is configured, the configured value will always be used.
For product types associated with product groups with any other Correction Library, configuring an isentropic exponent value is mandatory if flowing through an orifice meter. -
(Optional) In the Edit Product Color field, click (...) to select a color that will represent the Product Type in the easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS). For more information on associating a color with the Product Type, see Configure the Product Type color.
-
(Optional) If you are using NIST REFPROP to supply your correction library information, in the Molecular Composition field, click (...) to select a molecular product composition (moleper) record that represents the product type's molecular composition. For more information, see Work with Product Molecular Composition.
