The Viscosity Table tab is used to configure the kinematic viscosity of the product at a given temperature.

Viscosity Table tab of prodtype row edit dialog

To configure the Viscosity Table information

  1. In the Temperature fields for Rows 0–2, enter the temperature information in the units selected in the unitprofile table.

  2. In the corresponding Viscosity fields for Rows 0–2, enter the corresponding kinematic viscosity.

Notes: Consider the following example: For Row 0 at a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit, you would enter a corresponding viscosity value in centistokes in the corresponding row. One centistoke is the equivalent of one square millimeter per second (1 cst = 1 mm²/s). This is often required in orifice-type metering to calculate the dynamic viscosity. Additionally, this information is used to calculate the pressure profile in Batch Tracking.
For product types associated with product groups with a Correction Library of API 11.3.2.1 1st Edition—Ethylene, if no values are configured in this table, viscosity will be dynamically looked up using API 11.3.2.1—Table 6.2 based on the current flowing pressure and temperature. If this table is configured, the specified values will always be used.
For product types associated with product groups with any other Correction Library, configuring the viscosity table is mandatory if flowing through an orifice meter.
