AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids

Extend Hydraulic Profiles

The Batch Tracking Hydraulic Profile Extension allows you to extend the profile point structure in order to track and trend more data attributes for each profile point. For example, in addition to tracking baseline data attributes such as head pressure and vapor pressure, you may choose to calculate custom attributes such as energy efficiency at each profile point. You may also use this extension to override the system-calculated values of baseline attributes.

The Hydraulic Profile of a pipeline segment consists of two parts:

  1. Static profile points at fixed mileposts along the segment. This set is considered part of the pipeline definition and can be configured in the BT file. A maximum of 40 static profile points can be specified for each segment.

  2. Dynamic profile points at the interfaces between batches in the segment. The mileposts for this set are dynamically determined each processing cycle as the batches move within the segment. A maximum of 40 dynamic profile points can be calculated for each segment.

Note: The code that generates the interface profile points checks to see if the batch interface is currently on an existing milepost. If it is, it does not create the interface milepost.

The bthydplot BLT is used to retrieve the Hydraulic Profile between two nodes. It is utilized by the Hydraulic Profile display (see, Understand the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids Hydraulic Profile). A call to the BLT returns a single combined list of static and dynamic profile points ordered by milepost.
