Understand Product Transfer Checking data storage

The Product Transfer Checking (flowxfer) table contains the configured possible product transfer relationships. It allows you to define the following:

  • The source device or storage entity. This is the device or storage entity where the product or Drag Reducing Agent (DRA) is coming from.

  • The destination device or storage entity. This is the device or storage entity that will receive the product or DRA coming from the source.

  • If the source or destination is a meter or pipeline, it is not sufficient to know the product active at the meter or at the location in the pipeline. It is necessary to know if a pending product at the meter is close to being activated or an interface of another product in the pipeline is nearby. You can configure a volume zone in which all products should be checked.

  • Path control for the transfer. In some cases, a valve may control whether product transfer occurs. In other cases, there may be no valve at all.

Note: In the case where the valves are part of a network, the definition and management of the valve network are not part of the Product Transfer Checking application. This is handled by the Connectivity Model which can be called by Product Transfer Checking and will return state information.
