The functioning of the flow rate in the following description changes based on the source of the information. If the source rate record is configured to receive Pulse Input or Pulse&Analog information, it will behave differently than if it receives Analog input.
Note: To avoid multiple rollovers in a single hour, the Maximum Reasonable Flow Rate must be less than the Input Rollover.
If your source rate record is configured as Pulse Input or Pulse&Analog
Positive rate counter readings indicating a flow rate less than the Max Reasonable Flow Rate (vol/h) will be accumulated as normal. If the Max Reasonable Flow Rate (vol/h) is exceeded, one of the following anomalous conditions will be detected: a Jump, Spike, or Counter Reset. For more information, see Understand Normal, Jump, or Spike.
If 0 is entered, any rate counter will be treated as valid, regardless of the flow rate that may be calculated using it.
If your source rate record is configured as an Analog Input:
The Max Reasonable Flow Rate (vol/h), if exceeded, will result in no volume being accumulated. If the telemetered flow rate is negative, the magnitude will be checked against the Maximum Reasonable Flow Rate (vol/h).
If 0 is entered, any flow rate will be treated as valid and the calculated volume will always be accumulated.
