  1. Look up supercompressibility (Fpv) using API 11.3.2.1–Table 6.1

The accumulator’s pressure analog and temperature analog provide the flowing pressure and flowing temperature values as inputs for the table lookup.

  2. Calculate the indicated volume at flowing conditions (IV).

The accumulator’s rate acccur value provides the current indicated volume. The value is rounded to five significant digits, both as an intermediate value to calculate gross volume (GV) and as its own final value.

Note: The calculations assume volume is measured in ft³, so the volume is converted to ft³ from the current volume unit specified by the accumulator’s unit profile.

  3. Calculate the gross volume at flowing conditions (GV).

As an intermediate value to calculate gross standard volume (GSV) as well as its own final value, gross volume is rounded to five significant digits.

  4. Calculate the gross standard volume at base conditions (GSV).

Gross standard volume is rounded to five significant digits, both as an intermediate value to calculate mass and as its own final value.

  5. Calculate mass using GSV.

Note: If an error occurs in calculating volume, such as from the temperature or pressure readings being out of range, the input indicated volume (IV) (rounded to five (5) significant digits) will be used as the output indicated volume, gross volume, and gross standard volume, and is also used to calculate mass. Mass is rounded to five significant digits.
