Batch Tracking configuration information is initially entered via ASCII configuration files used as an input to the Batch Tracking Compiler (BTC) utility. BTC populates the appropriate Batch Tracking records in the RealTime database (RTDB) tables. Each file represents an individual Batch Tracking model.
Batch Tracking RTDB records can only be created through BTC. While you can view records through the Advanced Database Editor (ADE), you cannot create records through the ADE. However, you can modify some of the values within a record via the ADE (for example, alarm limits and deadbands). BTC is executed to initially configure the system. After that, you only need run it after making any changes to the pipeline model itself.
