AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids

Select the proper API table

Each product group, defined using the prodgroup table, has its own set of correction tables defined. Three tables must be configured: one for temperature correction, one for pressure correction, and one for density correction. Only certain table combinations are valid. An invalid combination will result in an error condition being logged and no temperature and pressure corrections for volume will be applied.

Combinations depend on:

  • Type of liquid hydrocarbon represented by the product group. The choices are:

    • Crude oil.

    • Generalized refined products.

    • Specialized products. Crude or product that is compressible and has a coefficient of thermal expansion calculated.

    • NGL.

  • Density range of the product.

  • Standard temperature to correct to. Imperial unit systems correct to 60F. Metric unit systems normally correct to 15C, but can also correct to 20C.

The selection criteria differs slightly depending on whether the API1980 or the API2004 standard is used. The correction tables used to configure the prodgroup record for API1980 are described below.
