The Main tab allows you to define the basic properties of the Action Sequence (actionSequence) record. The following procedure details how to configure the Main tab of the actionSequence Row Edit dialog.

Note: In the event that the actionSequence record that you are trying to edit is active, you will be unable to save your changes in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). You should coordinate with the Controller to find a good time to make changes to the actionSequence record.

To configure the Main tab of the Action Sequence (actionSequence) record

  1. Open the actionSequence record. For more information on opening a actionSequence record, see Work with Action Sequence records.

The actionSequence Row Edit dialog appears.

  2. In the Name field, enter a name for your actionSequence record. This value must conform to basic AVEVA Enterprise SCADA naming conventions and be unique for all actionSequence records.

  3. (Optional) In the Description field, enter a description for your actionSequence record.

  4. To designate the actionSequence record as safety related, select the Safety Related checkbox. Selecting this checkbox allows the Controller the ability to filter for records that are designated as safety related.

  5. In the Group field, click (...) to select the group assignment to which the actionSequence record belongs.

    The group Select dialog appears.

  6. In the Dataset field, click (...) to select a dataset that will define the privileges assigned for each system and mode.

Note: Once a record is assigned to a dataset value, the dataset can only be changed to a value for which the system has a privilege record. A record's dataset cannot be changed in such a way that the system can no longer access the record.

    The doas_dataset dialog appears.

  7. In the Base Message field, click (...) to select the message set that should be used in conjunction with the actionSequence record. The selected message set must conform to the requirements for Action Sequence message sets.

  8. (Optional) In the Point Class field, click (...) to configure the Action Sequence point class.

  9. (Optional) In the Point SubClass field, click (...) to configure the Action Sequence point subclass.

Note:The Point Class field is used to allow the Administrator to configure alarm severity. For further information about the Point Class and Point SubClass fields, refer to Volume 1 of the RealTime Administrator documentation.

  10. (Optional) In the Priority Display field, specify the display you want to associate with the Priority Display button on an easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS) control panel.

  11. (Optional) If you want the Controller to arm the Action Sequence before the sequence can be started, select the Enable two-stage activation.

Note: Selecting Enable two-stage activation makes issuing an Action Sequence into a two-stage process, where other users are notified through the usage of alarm and event messages that the Action Sequence is armed and ready for activation.

  12. To create or modify the steps for the sequence, select Action Sequence Designer. For more information about the Action Sequence Designer sets, see Work with the Action Sequence Designer.
