It is possible to set appropriate limits on your meter prover. If these limits exceed the assigned tolerance, the provmtr record will go into an alarm state.

To set limits on your Meter Prover

  1. In the Pulses per 0.1 m3 field, enter the acceptable number of pulses per meter cubed.

  2. In the Temperature Limit field, enter the maximum temperature limit (in ºC) that the difference between the inlet and the outlet proving temperature can exceed.

  3. In the Pressure Limit field, enter maximum pressure limit (in KPa) that the difference between the inlet and the outlet proving pressure can exceed.

  4. In the Density Limit field, enter the maximum density limit (in Kg/m3) that the difference between the inlet and the outlet proving density can exceed.

  5. In the Number of Runs for Prove field, enter the number of runs performed in a proving sequence. The minimum number allowed is 3 and the maximum number allowed is 10. Data from all runs will be used in the calculation of the meter factor.

  6. In the Maximum Count Deviation field, enter the maximum count deviation allowed for this meter. If the difference between the minimum and maximum pulse counts is greater than this value, the Line Controller cannot accept the MCF. This field holds an integer.

  7. In the Percentage of Previous MCF field, enter the maximum deviation limit from the previous meter correction factor (MCF) (in percent decimal) that the new MCF can exceed (otherwise the proving is invalid).

  8. In the Maximum Repeatability field, enter the maximum allowed deviation of prover run counts as per API standards. It is recommended that the value not exceed 0.050 percent.

  9. Select the Auto Accept on TPD Range checkbox to automatically accept an MCF when a prove completes successfully.
