Configure the Pumpstation record Maximum Power Authorization tab

It is possible to control how much power is authorized by the pumpstation for a total of eight consecutive time periods. Different limits can be set during peak and off-peak periods. For example, in order to limit costs, you may wish to limit the amount consumed during on-peak periods by placing a reasonable cap on the On-Peak Maximum Power, and allowing for a larger quantity of power to be consumed during the Off-Peak time period. If the expected power usage is greater than the maximum authorized during the defined On- and Off-Peak time periods, you will be given a warning message.

The maximum on-peak and off-peak power can be defined for up to 8 authorization periods.

The current authorization period is indicated by the index presented in the Current Authorization Date Selected Date (Index) section of the Maximum Power Authorization tab of the pumpstation Row Edit dialog.

The Selected Date (Index) is not configurable, but initializes to row 0 and is reset by Pump Statistics processing.

Note: Refer to the following list if all eight authorization periods are used:

  • Entries are sequential, with earliest date-time at the top and latest date-time at the bottom, with one exception.

  • The exception is that the last row is treated as a continuous loop. When the last authorization date is reached at row 7, the authorization period goes to the one defined at row 0.

  • When authorization period returns to the top row, it is expected that the expired date-times will have been updated by the Administrator to future date-times.

  • When first initialized, the current index is at row 0. This will be the first authorization date used.

It is not required that all 8 items be used. If the next entry that would be used has a blank date, or a date time before the current one, the list will silently remain on the current entry.

To configure the Pumpstation record Power Authorization Tab

  1. Define the maximum power authorization periods by typing values in the Start Date and Time column. Enter up to 8 date and times (with milliseconds) in the format of your locale.

Each billing date defines the start of an authorization period.

  2. Define the maximum on-peak and off-peak power by typing values in the On-Peak Maximum Power and Off-Peak Maximum Power fields. Set the maximum allowed on-peak and off-peak powers for each authorization period.
