Understand schedule input

In advance of a new batch passing through a location, a schedule of batches is prepared. This can be done by a scheduler, the Controller, or both. The schedule resides in tables under the Historical service. When a new batch starts, information on the batch including the batch identifier, the product of the batch, and the intended volume to move through the location is obtained from the Historical tables per schedule order. A subset of the schedule is cached in the RealTime service in the schTicket table. If the connection to the Historical service is lost, Batch Transfer can retrieve the batch information from this cache.

By matching batch information from the schedule with the flow measurement information, the volume of the batch that has moved through the location can be monitored. This task is handled by the active batch processor.
