AVEVA Enterprise SCADA maintains counters for each tank. These counters keep track of the tank’s throughput as Gross Observed (GO) and Gross Standard Volumes (GSV).

Tank counters are kept for the following time periods:

  • Hourly.

  • Daily — Total volume throughput for the current 24-hour period starting at the configured top of day.

  • Weekly — Total volume throughput for the current seven-day period starting at the configured top of day on Sunday.

  • Monthly — Total throughput for the current calendar month starting at the configured top of day on the 1st day of the month.

  • Yearly — Total annual throughput for the current year starting at the configured top of day on January 1st.

  • Resettable.

To account for the different time zones, the top of day can be configured by the Administrator. If an alternate top of day is not configured for the tank’s group, the system-wide top of day provided by the Network Management Console (NMC) is used. If a system-wide top of day has not been defined, the top of day will default to midnight.

View the tank volume counters using the Tank Counters dialog.

The following table lists the action items and fields on the Tank Counters dialog.

Fields

Description

Tank Number

The tank assigned number.

Temp Factor

The temperature correction factor.

Counter Type

The counter type is set by the Administrator. Counters

count the input, output, or sum of both input and output.

Rollover

The value at which the resettable counter rolls over. This is used for both the gross observed and gross standard volume.

When the daily and monthly rollover occurs, the counter information is sent to the Historical database.

Enable Gross Observed Volume / Gross Standard Volume

  • To turn on the counters, select Enable Counters (Gross Observed Volume (GOV) or Gross Standard Volume (GSV)).

    If the GOV is disabled, you will be unable to select Enable Counters for the GSV, as the GSV can only be written if both the GOV and GSV counters are enabled.

Hourly, Daily, Weekly

Periodic counters for both GOV and GSV. These are calculated by adding the absolute value of the volume change each time the tank is processed. When the end of the period is reached, the value is sent to Historical and they are reset to zero.

Reset Periodic Integration Counters

Select to reset the hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly counts to zero.

Resettable

Continuous counters for both GOV and GSV. They will continue to count until the configured Counter Rollover value is reached or reset is selected.

Reset Accumulation Counters

Select to reset the resettable counts to zero.
