Telemetry failure

In general, if communications with devices are lost, Batch Tracking will continue to process using the last good values. An exception is interface detection processing (for more information, see Understand the Interface Detection Utility functionality).
If meter input is lost, it poses a particular problem, as batch and anomaly movement will cease to occur. There are a number of available options:
-
You can leave the situation as is. Missed flow will be caught up on when communications are restored.
-
You can simulate the missing flow using the Metering-Ticketing application. For more information, see Metering and Virtual Flow Computer (VFC) application. Batches and anomalies will continue to progress. A discrepancy will occur when communication returns and the simulation is ended.
-
If not enough flow was simulated, there will be an attempt to catch up on the missed flow.
-
If too much flow was simulated, no new flow will be processed in Metering-Ticketing until the RealTime counter catches up to the simulated counter. The movement of batches and anomalies will pause until this occurs.
