Countdown

Countdown is a data package that tracks progress towards a Controller-defined volume target for a rate point.

The Controller can schedule numerous targets. Scheduling involves entering the target into the record prior to a volume count being tracked against it. These targets are in either the Scheduled or Next position and are part of a queue that ranks them in order of which target will move into the Current position. The application can only track the target in the Current position.

When a Controller sets a target volume and tracking begins, the application:

• Saves the starting volume from the meter.

• Calculates the following countdown information:

  • Count Up — The amount of product that passed through the meter.

  • Countdown — The amount of product to be counted until the target volume is reached.

  • Switch Time — The estimated elapsed time until the target is reached.

  • Estimated Flow Rate — Determined as part of meter processing.
