The following changes can be made to an existing Strapping table:

  • Rows can be added.

  • Rows can be deleted.

  • Changes to the Effective Date.

  • Changes to the Tank Volume Offset.

The following changes cannot be made to a Strapping table once it is saved:

  • Changes to the Strapping Table Name.

  • Changes to the Strapping Fraction.

  • Changes to the Enter Strapping Table By field.

To edit an existing Strapping table

  1. From the Level to Volume tab of the tank Row Edit dialog, select Edit Strapping Tables.

Note: The Edit Strapping Tables function is only available when Use Extended Strap is selected from the Strap Selection dropdown list.

The View Strapping Tables dialog appears.

  2. Double-click the desired strapping table.

The Tank Strapping Table dialog appears.

  3. To add a row:

    1. From the Add Rows field, select the up arrow, or enter the number manually.

    2. Select Add.

The newly added rows appears, and the number of total rows listed in the status bar increases.

    3. Depending on the selection made in the Enter Strapping Table By field, enter in new values for Level and Total Volume (inc offset) or Increments and Volume fields.

Notes: If you leave the new Level and Total Volume (inc offset) or Increments and Volume fields blank, an error message occurs when the record is saved.

When entering a decimal value, a period must be used to indicate the decimal place for numerical values—regardless of the locale. For example: x.xx.

  4. To delete a row, do one of the following:

    • Highlight the row headers that you would like to delete, and select Delete.

    • Right-click the row header that you would like to delete, and select Delete from the Action menu.

Note: Once you have saved the file, a row deletion cannot be undone.

The deleted row is highlighted red.

  5. To change the Effective Date, do one of the following:

    • Select the dropdown arrow, and choose a new effective date in the calendar.

    • Enter the value manually.

  6. (Optional) In the Tank Volume Offset field, enter the offset volume for the Strapping table.

Note: The Tank Volume Offset is a volume that is added to the total volume calculation. The value is used to account for volume displacement within the tank. If you hover over the Tank Volume Offset field, a tool tip will appear to indicate that the volume offset is applied to the Total Volume field in all rows in the strapping grid.

The Tank Volume Offset value is only included in the calculation of the Total Volume field when Increments is selected as the volume entry method.

  7. Select Save.

The Proposed Changes dialog appears, outlining the changes made to the record.

  8. Select OK.
