AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids

Insert a Ticket

  • Last UpdatedApr 24, 2025
  • 3 minute read

A ticket can be manually inserted into the pending ticket queue by filling out the Pending Ticket Insert dialog. If your Administrator has created a Batch Transfer Ticket Template, some of the fields may have been filled in for you. However, you can override these default values. If there is a change from an outside source to the tickets that are kept in Historical, you will be prompted on whether they would like to refresh and retrieve the newest version of the data, or continue using their own version.

To insert a ticket in the pending ticket queue

  • Select Insert New Ticket in the Pending Schedule window.

The Pending Ticket Insert dialog appears.

Note: Any default values provided in the Pending Ticket Insert and Extended Properties dialogs can be edited by you. If the Administrator has prepared a ticket template, the template will be loaded into the Pending Ticket Insert and the Extended Properties dialogs automatically. For more information on creating a ticket template, refer to the AVEVA Pipeline Operations for Liquids Administrator Guide documentation.

The following table lists the actions and fields on the Pending Ticket Insert dialog.

Fields

Description

Batch ID

Enter the batch ID of the new pending ticket.

  • By default, Batch IDs must adhere to the following standards:

  • They must begin with a letter.

  • They must be no more than 31 characters in length.

  • The only special characters permitted in the batch ID are the hyphen (-) and the underscore (_).

If the Batch ID fails to meet these standards, an error message appears. The standards for batch IDs can be configured by the Administrator and may be different on your system.

Sched. GSV

Type the scheduled Gross Standard Volume (GSV) of the ticket. The units are defined by the unit profile.

Product Type (next ticket)

Click (…) button to select the product type of the next ticket. The Product Type Select dialog appears.

Sch. Start Time

Use the dropdown menus to select the date and time that the ticket is scheduled to start.

Sch. End Time

Use the dropdown menus to select the date and time that the ticket is scheduled to end.

Revision No

Provides information about how many times the pending ticket insert has been edited. This information is updated with each Insert or Update operation.

Operator Comments

(Optional) Type any comments you have about the ticket.

Ticket Position

The position of the ticket within the pending ticket queue. When this field is modified, tickets in the queue will be automatically shifted to accommodate any change in position.

If this field is blank, then the ticket will be placed at the end of the ticket queue. If the entered value is greater than the final position (for example, if only 10 tickets exist, but the ticket was assigned a position of 50), the value will be automatically adjusted to the correct queue position when saved.

Extended Properties

Opens the Extended Properties window.

Insert

Select to insert the newly configured pending ticket.

Depending on your configuration, if you are inserting a ticket associated with a remote ticketing batch transfer, a download to a remote device is attempted after the ticket is inserted. If the remote ticket device is inhibited, however, no download will be attempted. The message will ask for download confirmation before inserting the ticket.
