One of the most critical elements when creating a Line Blockage model is to correctly configure when a pump is blocked. There is a set of pre-defined criteria that define when a pump is blocked, and each pump can be individually configured to use one of these criteria.
In the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) application, on the row edit for each pump record, there is a Pump Blocked Rule column. This column contains several options that define when a pump should be considered blocked and activate Line Blockage. For more information about using ADE and configuring pumps, see Pump configuration.
The Pump Blocked Rule can be set as any of the following options:
-
Upstream Blocked โ The pump is considered blocked whenever it cannot reach at least one injection device.
-
Downstream Blocked โ The pump is considered blocked whenever it cannot reach at least one delivery device.
-
Upstream or Downstream Blocked โ A combination of the previous two options. The pump must be able to reach both an injection and a delivery device
-
Disable Automatic Shutdown โ The pump will never be considered as blocked.
