Anomaly Insertion

If an anomaly is detected outside of the volume deadband between the predicted location and detection location, an anomaly of the same type as the one that has been detected is inserted at the detector location. Ultimately, you make the decision as to whether the anomaly as located by Batch Tracking is in the right position. You may decide to place the anomaly in a different location than the Anomaly Detection might automatically.

To realign the pipeline schematic

If you receive a Detected Anomaly alarm, it could indicate that the pipeline schematic needs adjustment.

To realign the pipeline schematic do one of the following:

  • Move the original anomaly to the detected position.

You can then delete the detected anomaly. Refer to Access the Anomaly Edit dialog.

    Or

  • For the detected anomaly, update the Notes field in the Anomaly Legend Summary on the Pipeline Control window with relevant information from the original anomaly record. You can then delete the original anomaly. Refer to Access the Anomaly Edit dialog.

Note: You may be able to use the position of the original anomaly to determine a more accurate slip factor.
